Position Overview: 

Good Earth Tools is looking for an experienced, energetic, self-motivated individual with metal fabricating experience to join our 2nd shift team! The requirements and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

 ·        Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal products, specified by work orders, diagrams, and templates by using different welding applications.

 ·        Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment by reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements per the routing and material list.

 ·        Understand and safely operate fabricating machines by following instructions and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

 ·        Preheats parts, using hand torch, burner and induction heater by following heating procedures and specifications. 

·        Works with engineering department to troubleshoots part fit and assembly process by adjusting materials and print specifications in order to fabricate final product.

 ·        Observe proper machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction based on company standards and procedures.

 ·        Inspects first part for quality, accuracy, and functionality by checking product specifications based on following guidelines of shop floor order print/instructions. 

Requirements

·        High School diploma or equivalent is required

·        A minimum of two (2) years of metal fabrication experience preferred, or proof of welding certification for entry level position

·        Must be able to interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications 

·        Must be able to work 10 hour shifts, Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00am

 ·        Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.

 Physical Demands: 

·        Moderate to heavy physical effort required

·        Must be able to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds

Position Overview:

The quality control inspector position conducts receiving, in-process, and final inspections of parts, supplies, and assembly of heavy mobile equipment such as skidsteers, backhoes, and excavators. The quality control inspector position works to help resolve any quality issues. The quality control inspector must possess a trained eye for detail and must be reliable and committed to accuracy and thoroughness in the completion of their inspection tasks.

The successful candidate for this position will have previous training and/or experience in quality control, metal fabrication, machining, machine assembly, drafting and/or engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Measures products with measuring tape, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machine (CMM), hardness testers, and other inspection gauges.
  • Checks randomly selected samples, and verifies accuracy of documentation and previous measurements
  • Assembly and disassembly of components using hand and power tools
  • Works independently under general supervision.
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for product manufacture and ability to look up product specifications and data in company’s computer system.
  • Keeps records on computer network and writes memos in MS Office indicating results of inspections.
  • Uses experience and judgment for establishing task priorities and accomplishing work.
  • May inspect work areas to detect unsafe conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics that include mechanical, welding, hydraulic, electrical, and assembly drawings.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs  and willing to learn manufacturing MRP software
  • Proficient in performing calculations using basic math and Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to operate (or willingness to learn) fork trucks, heavy equipment, and overhead cranes.
  • Previous training or experience with portable CMM operation and programming is a plus but not required

Physical Demands:

The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:
•    Primary responsibility of the technician is to diagnose equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs on company owned machines as directed, on site or in the field as needed. 
•    Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Also includes preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
•    Detection of faults through the use of diagnostic laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines and general machine performance is expected.
•    Occasional operation of machine in the determination of repair need or repair assessment may occur.
•    Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications though the use of hand tools and pneumatic tools. 
•    Occasional use of basic welding equipment.
•    Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
•    Research repair needs and order parts as needed.
Requirements:
•    2 years’ experience OR certification from a Technical or vocational education in Heavy Equipment, Diesel or Automotive Technology required
•    Experience in diagnosing equipment utilizing laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance is expected
•    Knowledge of basic tools and tool usage, including basic welding skills
•    Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record
