Have you ever taken a pottery class? Or attended one of those sip and paint parties?
I have done both, and I cannot lie, I miss doing it more often.
When I was enrolled at SEMO, I took an excellent pottery class with an instructor Amy Chase. I don't know anything about her--except that she is one of the most chill teachers I have ever had. She was juggling international students, who were uber talented and meticulous. Then there I was, with no real training or skill. She did really like some "pomegranates" that I made. I copied the style from a museum exhibition I had seen in New York.

Our church recently applied for a grant to engage the community in art classes. I went ahead and signed up, hoping that being there would inspire new friendships. One class was a mosaic fish, one a pottery lantern.
The final class was a "poor man's stained glass". This was my dry fit mock up:
I'm excited to see how it looks when completed. Mainly because I stepped out in faith with something I had never done.
And also because I believe that the instructor may be a new friend!
Love you, bye.
