WHY?

We are raising funds for an epilepsy service dog for Nora.

When Nora was 6 she began having several different types of seizures. She was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Those are just some big words that mean Nora has multiple different types of seizures on a daily basis.

In the last 5 years, Nora has had lots of tests and hospital stays. It’s not always been easy for her, but she is a STRONG GIRL and STRONG in her FAITH!

We know that even when we don’t see it, God is always working ALL things out for her good.

What does a service dog mean for Nora?

She will have a constant companion and comfort for hospital stays, blood draws, doctor visits, and everyday life. The dog will be trained to detect and help alert us of seizure activity. It is very hard to physically have eyes on Nora every minute of the day. If Nora has a seizure that continues past 5 minutes, she needs a rescue medication. When Nora has a seizure while sleeping, using the restroom, getting dressed, etc. the dog will alert us right away!

A service dog will provide Nora a degree of independence that she has not had. It will be a HUGE benefit for Nora and the whole family!

If you are unable to attend, would you consider helping us reach our goal?

You can donate in the following ways:
