(Leadwood, MO.) The 5th Annual Bluegrass, Country, Gospel Music Festival in Leadwood is set for Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th. One the featured headliner groups this year is The Dillards, who played the Bluegrass Group The Darlin's on the Andy Griffith Television Show. Rodney Dillard plays guitar and sings with the group. He says they'll bring a little bit of Mayberry to Leadwood with music and inside stories from the show. Dillard says they were discovered after they went to Hollywood instead of Nashville in their search for a career. According to Dillard they got an audition in front of Andy Griffith.
Barbara Fairchild, who had a #1 country music single with the song Teddy Bear, will also perform at this year's festival. It all begins Friday evening, October 4th, at Leadwood City Park. It's $5 for adults to enter the festival grounds while kids 12 and under are allowed in free.
