BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Leadington Officials Abruptly Resign

(LEADINGTON, MO) - KFMO / B104 has learned multiple officials with the City of Leadington have abruptly resigned, for reasons that are not yet available.  KFMO/B104 has confirmed a notice for a Monday meeting at 6 pm has been posted on the main entrance to the Leadington City Hall.

The letter states they are conducting a meeting for the purpose of the resignation of the Judge, Prosecutor, Court Clerk, City Clerk and the Police Chief.  The meeting indicates a closed session for "personnel and legal matters" will take place upon a motion to take the public meeting to closed session.

Leadington Mayor Dustin Winick tells KFMO/B104 the city prosecutor and judge are leaving for different reasons than some of the other resignations and it has been known for about a month or so that they were leaving.  Regarding the other resignations, Winick says he is not allowed to comment at this time based on the recommendation of the City Attorney.  Winick says the attorney is not able to attend the emergency meeting Monday evening, and it is doubtful that he will be able to comment further after the closed session comes to an end as a result of the city attorney not being present.

Winick went on to tell us that the City Clerk's office will remain closed until a replacement clerk can be hired by the city, which is also on the agenda for Monday evening.

We will have a reporter at the meeting and will provide updates as they become available.
