EMAA Food Giveaway Successful

(Park Hills, Mo) - Officials with the East Missouri Action Agency's Park Hills office are pleased with the outcome after today's food giveaway. The organization's Executive Director, Kerri McCrorey, says the giveaway is a part of National Community Action Month.

Tim From Farmington was in line for food pickup and is grateful for the help.

Sheila, who lives in Park HIlls, says she'll be able to put this food to good use.

Several organizations were on hand to give out information and help with the food effort including Prairie Farms Dairy, who gave out ice cream and milk. Other groups included Ameren electric, The St. Francois County Community Partnership, and the Spire natural gas company. There were also representatives from Mineral Area College, Shared Blessings, The Great Mines Health Center, and Family Services all handing out information on the programs available from their groups. 200, 25 pound produce boxes were given out from Proffer Produce. Officials at the East Missouri Action Agency will have the program each Thursday morning this month at 11 o'clock. For more information you can call the agency at 573-431-5191.
