Farmington Man in Custody After Standoff With Police

(Farmington, MO.) A man from Farmington is in custody after a five hour standoff with police Saturday. Records indicate police were called to 203 Patterson Street for a disturbance about 10:30 a.m. When they arrived a man ran from the scene and was pursued by officers. The man, who has sevral warrants, ran into a home at 504 North Jackson. He barricaded himself in a bedroom. The owner of the home escaped along with an infant. After negotiating with members of the Farmington Police, and St. Francois County Sheriff's Department, for five hours, The suspect surrendered peacefully. It's said police will charge the man with first degree burglary, fourth degree assault, resisting arrest by fleeing, and armed criminal action. The man has four active warrants.
