House Passes Initiative Petition Reform

(Jefferson City, MO) A joint resolution to align the Missouri constitution's initiative petition process with that of the United States Constitution is headed to the Missouri Senate after passing the house today. State Representative, Mike Henderson, says as legislators they take an oath to protect the Constitution and the fundamental laws of Missouri and this resolution presents common sense reform preserving the right of every Missourian to petition government. He adds initiative petition has been abused in Missouri.

Henderson explains if Senate members approve the resolution it would go in front of voters in the November election.
