More Workforce Development at MAC Meeting

(Park Hills, MO.) Workforce development continues to be a major focus for the future at Mineral Area College. The issue was discussed at today's Mineral Area College Board of Trustees meeting. The Director of Continuing Education at the college, Pam Watkins, also writes grants for the school. She says they're working on two separate grant projects that would allow MAC to train people for the needs of employers,...the Workforce Training Initiative and the MO Excels grant.

According to Watkins, if they get all the funding available, those facilities would house welding classes as well as instruction for residential wiring, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Watkins also says they should know whether or not they get the funding sometime in November. Enrollment was also on the meeting's agenda. Trustees also looked at the issues of bringing up enrollment, campus safety statistics, and a Trunk N Treat event to be held on the Park Hills Campus at 5:30 the evening of Friday, October 25th.
