(Carrizozo, NM) One of the three men who escaped from the Iron County Jail early last Saturday morning, Tracy Brown, is in custody. Reports show members of the U.S. Marshall's Service determined Brown and his girlfriend, Diana Thomas, had left the Denver, Colorado area Wednesday and could be headed to New Mexico. The information was passed on to officers with the Marshall's Service Southwest Investigation Fugitive Team, or SWIFT, in New Mexico. Brown and Thomas were spotted in Carrizozo New Mexico and taken into custody. Brown told authorities he and the other two escapees, Dwight Abernathie and Samuel Gillam, had driven to Colorado and then split up. More leads have been developed and the search continues for Abernathie and Gillam. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their arrest.
